WASSAIL CELEBRATION FRIDAY 12/16  2:00-3:00PM
SCHOOL DISMISSED AT 3:00, EDP GOES TO 6:00PM as usual
A long tradition at Roycemore is our Wassail Celebration where the entire community comes together to celebrate the holidays.  One of the things we will do is Project Linus, see below!

A TIME OF GIVING
Although we promote community service all year long, this is the time of year that the Roycemore community does many things to contribute to the greater community around us.

1. NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY CHILDREN'S GENTLY USED COAT DRIVE. The Upper School National Honor Society is asking for new or gently used coats for children who are in Kindergarten through 8th Grade.  Also if you still have any children's clothes for these ages that you want to donate, they will be happy to take those too. There will be bins throughout the school. The clothes will be going to ESCCA (Evanston School Children's Clothing Association), which provides clothes for students in the Evanston/Skokie area.

2. PROJECT LINUS FRIDAY 12/16
As part of our Wassail celebration, all members of the Roycemore community (parents welcome) will work together to create fleece blankets for Project Linus. Project Linus will donate our warm cozy blankets to hospitalized children.   Donations of printed flannel in 2-yard increments is greatly appreciated.

PICTURES THIS WEEK:
1. We have two after-school programs going every day. Every day we have different enrichment activities plus our Extended Day Program.  The students can go to the enrichment activities and then cycle in to "EDP" or get picked up at that time. Our Extended Day Program is wonderful!  The children have so many different activities, and I did not get pictures of all the art projects they do.  The pictures are from the Older Group.

  2. Besides the Family Event for Hour of Code, the children engaged in coding activities in their classrooms.

3. The Kindergarteners are preparing for their "car show." Each car is carefully crafted from recyclable materials. These pictures show them creating them.

Wasn't WINTER PROGRAM, Wonderful? Thank you to Mrs. Herrick and Mrs. Wunder for putting on a spectacular show. It was truly one of the best!

With the cold weather upon us, please make sure your children have the proper clothes for recess!  They need jackets, hats, gloves, snow pants and boots!! Scarves are optional! We go out every day that the temperature is above 20 degrees and windchill in double digits.  Snow does not deter us; in fact we love it!!

Our first Admissions Coffee will be Tuesday, December 6 from 8:30-10:00.  If you know someone who would like to see our differentiated program in operation, please invite them to come.  They can contact Amanda Avery aavery@roycemoreschool.org to say they are coming. Also walk-ins are always welcome.

HOUR OF CODE FAMILY CELEBRATION FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9
