    The SPRING DANCE/TUMBLING SHOW, MOANA  was wonderful and also a wonderful way to see how all the divisions of the school come together to make a fabulous evening. Thank you Mrs. Wunder!

    1. The K-Kids put on an adorable end of the year Spring music performance.  Thank you Mrs. Novesky!

     2. A lovely tradition at Roycemore has been Mrs. Lisa Bretones creating and singing a class song each year with her children's classes. 
  3. The Second Grade culmination of their study of the Rain Forest was researching an animal who lives in the Rain forest, creating a book about the animal and presenting their findings to their parents and the other students in Lower School.

1.  Children should not have to sit at desks all day unless they want to.  At Roycemore, students work on the floor, sometimes in beanbag chairs, on ball chairs, on stools that move, or finding their own way as this young man did.  

    2.  Our excellent faculty mentors many student teachers from universities all over the Chicago area.  Here  one student teacher is teaching a lesson to the pre-kindergarten children. 

        
3. It was a beautiful week and the early childhood students loved the sandbox and water table!  
4. The 4th Grade made games based on their literacy knowledge of the hero's journey!

The Scholarship Dinner was wonderful! Thank you to everyone who attended and gave so generously to our Gift of Education  which allows so many students to attend Roycemore, through our Sliding Scale tuition program, who otherwise couldn't!

YEA, THE YOUNG EVANSTON ART FESTIVAL

The Young Evanston Artist Festival is an art show that highlights student art. This year, every Roycemore K-4th Grader has art displayed at YEA. Lower School students worked on collaborative murals, which will be shown along with their 3-D works. Below you will find class meet-up times, but students are welcome to come at any time between 10am-4pm. (Mrs. O’Donnell will be at our booth for class meet-up times, and Roycemore Parent volunteers will be there in the morning.)

2. Recess was exceptionally fun this week with the nice weather.  The baseball game was a highlight!

Thank you to the parents and the RFA for all the wonderful goodies and treats you showered on our fabulous teachers for TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK

     FOURTH GRADERS WERE IN SPRINGFIELD LAST THURSDAY AND FRIDAY, accompanied by teachers and parents As a culmination experience of their study of Illinois history, the Fourth Graders headed to  Springfield this past week to see the Lincoln Museum, and his home, our State Capital, and New Salem, where Lincoln lived as a young man.  There was lots of learning and lots of fun!  Look for more pictures at the bottom of the blog.



ROYCEMORE SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER DINNER, SAT. MAY 13! The Gift of Education, Pass It On!  This dinner is to celebrate the second century of quality college preparatory education.  It is also to make this experience available to many families through our sliding scale tuition program.  We hope all of you will come together in community and joy to recognize students who have benefited from this program.  Please remember that your support, at every level, will make a difference for our students.
